Founding Readers

Become a Founding Reader

Join the conversation behind The Sustainability Mirage.

Every book begins with a question.

The Sustainability Mirage began with one that became increasingly difficult to ignore:

Can sustainable development succeed within a system designed for perpetual growth?

If this question interests you, I invite you to join the conversation.

Why Founding Readers Matter

Books are often presented as finished products.

In reality, they are part of a much longer journey of observation, reflection, discussion, and learning.

The Sustainability Mirage emerged from more than four decades spent working in international development, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and global supply chains.

The ideas explored in the book continue to evolve through conversations with readers, practitioners, academics, entrepreneurs, policy makers, and curious observers.

Founding Readers help shape that conversation.

Behind the Book

Insights into the experiences, observations, and questions that inspired the manuscript.

Founding readers receive occasional, substantive communications — not frequent promotional messages. The emphasis is on quality of conversation, not volume of contact.

A Personal Invitation

Throughout my career, I worked with governments, NGOs, corporations, investors, producers, and communities across four continents.

Despite their differences, I repeatedly encountered the same contradiction.

The more sustainability efforts expanded, the more difficult meaningful progress seemed to become.

This observation eventually became a book.

But before it became a book, it was a question.

And questions are best explored through conversation.

If these ideas resonate with you, I would be pleased to have you join the journey.

A Note on Frequency

The goal is not to build an audience — it is to sustain a conversation.

You can expect occasional essays, updates when meaningful milestones are reached, and invitations to discussions when they arise.
